Elaine L. Poulos passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025, at the Toni & Trish House in Auburn, Michigan, at the age of 86.
Born to the late Louis and Emma, Elaine was a woman of strong Catholic faith. She devoted over 50 years to her work in healthcare, beginning at the old General Hospital, continuing through its transition to Bay Medical, and finally McLaren. Elaine remained committed through every change, always showing up with dedication and care for others.
Elaine was known for her warm heart, her selflessness, and her fun-loving spirit. She loved the Detroit Tigers, watching a game of golf or bingo-whether at the halls or casinos, and was fond of scratch-off tickets. Elaine had a passion for astrology and numerology. The lottery numbers held special meaning for her, especially when they aligned with birthdays or significant dates; she'd even called her sister when their birthday numbers came up.
Though she dreamed of traveling the world, she joyfully lived vicariously through the adventures of those around her. She was always up for a trip, and anyone around her knew she brought laughter and joy wherever she went. Elaine had a deep appreciation for music and loved singing in the church choir.
She gave so much to so many-always putting others first, offering kindness without hesitation, and carrying a strong sense of open-mindedness and acceptance. She was a good person, through and through, and her light touched countless lives.
She is survived by sister: Christina (Mark) Gosdzinski, niece, Annette Newsham; nephews, Justin Strum, Tony Osantowski; great nieces, Madysen Newsham and Emma Lynn Smith. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings: Kathleen (Vernon) Meadows, twin sisters: Mary Margaret and Beatrice Pauline and baby boy Poulos.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish - St. Stanislaus Church. Entombment will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery. Family and friends may gather for visitation from 8:30 AM until the time of service.
