Funeral services for Mrs. Elaine Martha Simons will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026, in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, with Reverend Allen Hatten officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Lincecum Cemetery, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.
Mrs. Simons, age 73, passed from her earthly home on Monday, December 29, 2025.
Elaine was known to all who loved her as a woman of deep faith in God. She was kind, patient, humble, and generous, with a smile that could light up any conversation. She was a natural caretaker and always working to help others. She had a strong work ethic, whether it be working as a housewife and mother, or outside of the home. She always had words of wisdom and was someone others could turn to without hesitation. She lived with grace, love, forgiveness, and without judgment-everything one could hope for in a mother, wife, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Gisela Nugent; and her grandmother, Martha McCollumn.
She is survived by her husband, Dewayne Simons; her daughter, Anne Simons Vines (Johnathan); her son, Daryll Simons; two brothers, Tommy Nugent (April), and Herbert Nugent (Tanya); one nephew, Caleb Nugent; and one niece, Brittany Nugent.
