Funeral services celebrating the life of Elaine Whitten will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 14, 2023, at New Life Ministries, 13269 Hwy 171 S, Mansfield, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Rev. Vernese Curry Green. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery, Logansport, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 13, 2023, at the church.

Elaine was born on April 19, 1943, to Clayton and Mary Bell Whitten in Logansport, Louisiana and entered into rest on Saturday, October 7, 2023.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Ernest “Snake” Claybrook Jr. and wife, Tammy and Richard Claybrook; daughters, Sheryl Jones and Karen Daw and husband, Ricky; sisters, Tula Mae Pope, Maxine Shadoin, Bernice Parker, Laura Booker and husband, Gwinn, Sharon Doty, and Debra Jacobs and husband, Carl; sister-in-law, Sandra Whitten; grandchildren, Vincent Jones, Alissa Delaware, Dalayna Daw, Dori Daw, and Gunner Claybrook; five great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Mary Bell Whitten and brothers, EJ Whitten, and Raymond Whitten.

Honoring Elaine as pallbearers will be Gunner Claybrook, Cody Brown, Darren Strong, Steve Wilson, Dave Clark, and Eddie Galaspy. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Evans and Eddie James.
