In Loving Memory of Mike
Michael “Mike” Curtis Hensley, 56, of Joaquin, Texas peacefully entered into rest surrounded by family on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. He was born on September 11, 1969 to Curtis and Johnnie Faye Booker Hensley in Mansfield, Louisiana.
Mike was the best husband, father, son, brother, and friend anyone could ask for. He lived his life with kindness, strength, and a generous heart. Mike never met a stranger — his smile and easygoing nature made everyone feel at home.
He loved the outdoors and found peace in hunting and the quiet beauty of nature. But what he cherished most was spending time with his wife, his kids, his grandkids, and his nieces and nephews. They were his greatest joy and his proudest accomplishment. Whether it was sharing stories, laughter, or simple moments together, his love for them was unconditional and endless.
Mike also loved spending time with his dog, Fancy, and working alongside his brother and best friend Jeff, as well as his lifelong friend Glenn — especially when they were welding or fixing something together. Those were the moments that brought him happiness and pride.
He worked hard, loved deeply, and gave freely. His life was a reflection of loyalty, love, and selflessness. Though his time here feels far too short, the impact he made will never fade.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his warmth, laughter, and love will live on forever in the hearts of his family and friends — especially in the eyes and smiles of his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Forever in our hearts.
He was preceded in death by his father, Curtis Neal Hensley; mother, Johnnie Faye Booker Hensley; sister, Darla Hensley Gortney; father-in-law, Jimmy McKenzie and mother-in-law, Sandra McKenzie.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Kathy; daughters, Erika Darnielle and husband Zach, Ashley Brown and husband Brian; sons, Braeden Hensley and wife Natalie, Josh Brown and wife Erika; “bonus son” Nathan Colton and wife Maddison; brother, Jeffrey Hensley and wife Christine; sister, Debbie Davis and husband Chuck; sisters-in-law, Susan Rushing and husband Andra, Jami Lee and husband Philip, and Felicia Walker and husband Dusty; grandchildren, Maiya, Axl, Brookie, Finn, Dax, Palmer, Rowyn, Tinley, Nash, Jude, Beau, and Olivia. Numerous aunts, uncles, and other extended family members also mourn his loss.
