Retired Sergeant Major Eldon "Lowell" Briscoe, 88, went to his heavenly home, Monday, February 12, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born April 5, 1935 in Rogers Chapel, Kentucky to the late Dewey and Abbie Rogers Briscoe. During his twenty-one years in the US Army, he proudly served in the Vietnam War and attained rank of Sergeant Major before his retirement in November 1977. Lowell was an avid bluegrass music man, going to festivals, playing the bass in many bands, and also a founding member of Kentucky Friends of Bluegrass. He enjoyed restoring antique cars, keeping a tidy yard and home, and most importantly, driving a spotless car. He attended Stanton First Church of God for over twenty years. He is survived by his wife of over 47 years, Carlena Briscoe, whom he married November 12, 1976 in Anchorage, Alaska. Also leaving behind, brother Shirley Briscoe; daughter, Holly (Al) Brewer; step-daughter, Jackie (Patrick) Bostwick; his favorites, his grandchildren, Evan, Caeden Parker, Chase, and Carlee Molihan; a host of nieces, nephews, and countless friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Dennison Briscoe, Elbridge Briscoe, and Donald Briscoe, and sister, Betty Nagel.
