Eleander Parrott

Funeral Services for Eleander “Glen” Carey Parrott, 88, of West Monroe, LA, will be held 1:00 P.M., Monday, February 26, 2024, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA, with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Interment will follow in Chatham Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service on Monday.  

Glen was born January 21, 1936, and passed away February 21, 2024. 

Glen was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She never met a stranger. Glen loved country music, especially Alan Jackson. She found joy in sitting outside and watching the birds. Glen also attended Bourg Baptist Church, where she was a member. Glen’s favorite saying was “ I love you a bushel and a peck with a hug around the neck” which her family will miss hearing, terribly. 

Glen was preceded in death by her parents; Corbette and Gertrude Carey; her husband, James Parrott; and her siblings, Charles Carey, Melba Collins, and Rosetta Barr. 

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Jimmy Parrott, Sr., Jerry Parrott and his wife, Susie Parrott; her grandchildren, Jimmy Parrott, Jr. (Lacey Volguardts), Jessica Moss (Jeremy Moss), Lacey Parrott, Amy Parrott (Zachary Tindell), and Lauren Parrott; and her great grandchild, Julie Parrott. 

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Parrott, Sr., Jimmy Parrott, Jr., Jeremy Moss, Justin Barr, Cody Barr, and Zachary Tindell.
