Eleanor Louvina Barthell, 94, of Peoria, Illinois passed away on May 7, 2024 at her residence. She was born on March 31, 1930 in Peoria, Illinois the daughter of Benjamin and Wylma (Summer) Willms. Eleanor married Charles H. Barthell on October 25, 1947 in Peoria, Illinois. He preceded her in death in January of 2005.
She enjoyed being outdoors especially camping, fishing and gardening. Eleanor loved to share her expertise in canning, baking and general life skills with her family. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
Eleanor is survived by her children Rebecca Whitehouse of Peoria, Deborah (John) Rabbe of Manito, David (Gay) Barthell of Peoria, Shelah (Ricardo) Gutierrez of East Peoria; sister Sharon (Bill) Moyers; brother Gary Willms; fifteen grandchildren; twenty eight great-grandchildren; sixteen great-great-grandchildren and her two dogs Josie and Sophie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers Stan Willms, Harold Willms, son-in-law Dennis Whitehouse and a grandson Chad Gunter.
Funeral service will be held on Friday May 10, 2024 at 12pm at Cumerford Clary Funeral Home in Peoria, Illinois. A visitation will be an hour prior to the service. Pastor Joey Watt will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria, Illinois.
