Eleanor G. Becker

Eleanor G. Becker, 93, of Pequannock, passed away peacefully at home on January 3, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

A lifelong resident of Pequannock, Eleanor lived a life rooted in faith, service, and community.

She was a devoted member of Grace Bible Church, where she faithfully served as secretary. Through the Ladies Auxiliary, Eleanor joyfully took on the cherished role of Mrs. Santa Claus, bringing smiles and holiday cheer to countless families. She was also one of the first members of SPA 23, reflecting her deep commitment to community service.

Professionally, Eleanor built a distinguished career in New York City, working as an editor for McGraw-Hill Publishing before later serving as a buyer for Saks Fifth Avenue - roles she greatly enjoyed and in which she excelled. In her quieter moments, she found comfort and joy in playing solitaire, a pastime she truly loved.

Eleanor is lovingly survived by her daughters, Jenny Kreutz and her husband Barry, and Janice Becker Henderson; and her grandchildren, Shane Henderson, Amanda Henderson and her fiance Carl Gibbs III, Katie Mitchell and her husband Tim, and Corey Kreutz and his fiance Ariana Jayasinghe. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Edward.

Visiting hours will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, January 16 at Scanlan's. In lieu of flowers, donations to Pequannock Engine Company 2 would be greatly appreciated by the family.
