Eleanor T. Fonda

COHOES Eleanor T. Fonda, 84, entered into eternal rest Saturday, January 20, 2024, at her winter residence in Florida with her loving sons in attendance. Born in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Harold John Flavin and Eleanor T. Clement Flavin.
Eleanor attended Cohoes High School and subsequently obtained her GED. Eleanor loved doing piece work at Harmony Mills. She was also employed at Ballston Knit in Ballston Spa, and as a clerk for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation until she retired.
Eleanor was a devoted and loving mother. She also adored her pet animals, particularly her cats. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends during travels to various places taking trips on Yankee Trail excursions and spending time on cruise ships as they traveled to various ports of call. She particularly liked traveling to the beaches in Maine with her husband and two sons as well going to various casinos in the northeast to play her favorite games on slot machines.
Eleanor was the beloved wife of Francis M. Fonda who passed away in June of 2023; the loving mother of Michael Fonda of Cohoes and Patrick Fonda of Tampa, Florida; the sister of Sharon Flavin of Cohoes. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her brothers Wayne J. Flavin and Harold J. Flavin Jr.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 6 p.m. in the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Blvd, Cohoes, NY.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home from 4-6 p.m. prior to the service.
