Eleanor Ruth Kelly Blakney was born August 20, 1945 and passed away on February 8, 2025. She was born in the house in Aliceville where she was raised. She was the baby of six children, and she attended Aliceville High School. She loved life, people and music. She was a gifted piano player who loved to share her talent at church services, weddings and funerals. She married the love of her life, Coston Blakney on June 14, 1963 and they enjoyed 61 years together. She was a homemaker and mother to two sons, Doug and Barney Blakney. She enjoyed cooking, growing flowers and she loved animals. Her favorite past time was spoiling her three grandchildren who lovingly called her "Nanny" ! She was very quick witted and enjoyed visiting with anyone who needed to talk. She will be greatly missed, but we will see her again....
She was preceded in death by her parents, Barney C. Kelly, Sr. and Madeline Maughan Kelly; brothers, Barney C. Kelly, Jr., Roy Kelly and Raymond Kelly: sister, Carolyn Lay and daughter-in-law, Jennifer Blakney.
