Eleanor Mongiat Obituary

She was born in Detroit, MI, January 14, 1923, the daughter of the late Sophie and Joseph Konefal.
Eleanor earned a Nursing Degree from Providence Hospital in February 1945. She continued her education and became a Nurse Anesthetist and worked in the Chicago area hospitals, including the Veterans' Administration Hospital. She was especially fond of caring for the young men who served in the armed services.
Eleanor is preceded in death by James, her husband of 32 years, her parents and her sisters, Marie, Catherine and Adeline.
She is survived by a nephew, John Hoeflein, and his family, a cousin, Dr. Karen Hrapkiewicz, and two step sons James and David, and their families. Eleanor will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends.
A funeral Mass celebrating Eleanor's life will be Wednesday, August 24, 11 am (10 am in state), St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church, 16101 Rotunda Dr, Dearborn, MI, 48120.
Immediately following her Mass, a funeral procession will take Eleanor to her place of rest next to her parents and sisters at St Hedwig Cemetery, Dearborn.
In lieu of flowers donations will be used toward a Gregorian Mass for the repose of the soul of Eleanor Mongiat.
