Eleanor J. Stafford, 88, of Good Hope, passed peacefully on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at her home surrounded by family. She was born in Bainbridge on Saturday, April 4, 1936, a daughter of the late William and Mary Brown Everhart. She married Bruce Stafford on December 27, 1952, and he preceded her in death on June 17, 2006.
She retired from US Shoe Factory in Greenfield. Eleanor served as the Chaplain at Eagles 1325 for many years. She enjoyed reading, John Wayne movies, gardening and making memories with family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter: Marilyn Woolever (Craig Dement), her son: Michael "Mike (Becky) Stafford, six grandchildren: Brian Woolever, Brian (Davette) Mead, Jen Duncan, Mandy (Jason) Kenney, Jessica (Randy) Wright and Ashley Stafford (Victor Massie), six great-grandchildren: Branson (Marci) Leisure, Bryce Duncan (Anthony Woodworth), Brady Duncan (Liberty Meyer), Renae and Emma Wright , Zoey, Chloe and Phoebe Massie and two great-great- grandchildren: Delani Strain and Brooks Leisure and two special friends: Alpha Combs and Linda Hafer. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Marvin, William David and David "Foot" Everhart.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 1 p.m. at the ANDERSON-EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Greenfield with Pastor Jon Silveous officiating, Following the service, Eleanor will be laid to rest beside her husband, Bruce, in the Good Hope Cemetery, Family and friends can visit at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
