Elena Carr

Elena R. Carr, a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on January 4, 2025.
Born on June 19, 1930, in Attleboro, Massachusetts. Elena was a graduate of Attleboro High School and worked for many years at the L.G. Balfour Company. She was a talented seamstress, a skilled hand at embroidery, and an avid fan of crocheting, puzzles, and crosswords. Elena was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church in Seekonk and a member of the Balfour Gold Dusters Club.
Elena is survived by her two sons, Joseph Carr and his wife Ava of Vero Beach, FL and Michael Carr of Seekonk; her daughter, Patricia Silva of Seekonk; her grandchildren, Joseph Silva of East Providence, Dacia Mulhearn of Attleboro, and Michael Carr of Seekonk; she also leaves two great granddaughters, Teagan Mulhearn of Attleboro and Ella Carr of Seekonk.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Martin Carr, as well as her parents, Anthony and Louise Castiglia; her siblings, John Castiglia, Antoinette Powers and Rita Zarella; her cousin, Diane Ochab and dear friend Irene Trudell.
Her devotion to her family, her warm spirit, and her love for life will forever be remembered by those who knew her.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to Hope Hospice Care for the compassion provided to Elena.
A memorial visitation will be held from 4 -7 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Duffy-Poule Funeral and Cremation Services, located at 20 Peck Street, Attleboro, MA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, located on Coyle Drive, Seekonk, MA. Elena's burial will follow at St. Stephen's Cemetery, located at 683 South Main Street, Attleboro, MA.
There will not be a funeral procession from the funeral home to the church the morning of the Mass of Christian Burial.
