Elfriede Helene Fromm

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Elfriede Helene Fromm (nee Fehner), on September 20, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on July 25, 1931, in Syke, Germany to Karl and Sophie Fehner, Elfriede lived a life filled with love, dedication, and service to others.

Elfriede was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Walter Fromm, for 43 wonderful years until his passing in 1998. Together, they built a beautiful family and shared countless memories that will be cherished forever.

Elfriede, a milliner, and Walter, a tailor, immigrated to the United States in 1955. She worked hard in many jobs to support her family, including harvesting tobacco, operating a key punch, and even working in a factory doing light industrial work. She retired in the early 90's from the Troy Marriott where she worked in their employee kitchen.

She was a loving mother to her three children and a treasured Oma to seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.

Elfriede is survived by her son Harold Fromm, daughter Anita Jones (Aaron), Granddaughters Alisha Cieslik, Amanda Fromm, Brittany Holcomb and Kelsey Jones, Grandsons Brandon Fromm, Robert Fromm and Alex Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Fromm, son Norbert Fromm, her sisters Anna Brilling, Mariechen Alnoch, and her brothers Wilhelm Fehner, Hermann Fehner, and Heinz Fehner.

Elfriede was an avid gardener and loved to spend time outdoors. She was skilled in needlework, baked delicious treats, loved dark chocolate and spent a lot of her time caring for those she loved. She will be remembered for her gentle nature, unwavering faith, and the unconditional love she showed to everyone who knew her. Elfriede's legacy lives on through her family and the many lives she touched throughout her remarkable journey.
