Eileen J. Reilly

Eileen Josephine Reilly, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025, at the age of 78. Born November 10, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan, to John and Bridget Reilly, Eileen was raised in a proud Irish Catholic family. She attended Catholic schools throughout her childhood, where she was taught by many devoted nuns and formed a foundation of faith that carried her through life.

Growing up in downtown Detroit, Eileen cherished the memories of "the old neighborhood," often laughing and reminiscing with her siblings about their shared childhood. She was one of eight children to Irish immigrant parents, and family was always at the heart of her life.

Eileen married Edward Wheeler, and together they built a home in Troy, Michigan, where they shared more than 50 years of marriage. She took great joy in caring for her home, especially watering the flowers in her garden, and loved connecting with neighbors in her community. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest treasures. For many years, she lovingly babysat her grandchildren, creating a lifetime of memories filled with laughter, new outfits she couldn't resist buying them, and unconditional support.

Eileen was a proud and successful businesswoman, dedicating 36 years of her career to Daimler Chrysler. She was widely admired for her tireless work ethic, her strong yet charismatic personality, and her ability to bring laughter to those around her. Her sense of humor and love for cracking jokes brought light to every room she entered.

She enjoyed simple pleasures-gardening, "doing her puzzles," as she affectionately called her crosswords, and spending time with those she loved most. Above all, Eileen will be remembered for her generosity, her devotion to family, and the love she poured into every aspect of her life.

She is survived by her children, Eddie Wheeler (Melissa) and Bridget Wheeler (Eric Kravako), and her grandchildren, James (9), Quinn (7), and Reilly (8), River (4), and Declan (2). She also leaves behind her cherished siblings and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Eileen's life was one of love, laughter, faith, and devotion. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and strength that will continue to inspire those blessed to know her.
