Mr. Elio Yong Flores, 86, a resident of Lehigh Acres, passed peacefully into Eternal Life the evening of Monday, February 20, 2023 while in the care of Vitas Hospice in Naples.
Born on Friday, August 14, 19365 in Casa Blanca, Cuba, he was son to the late Mario and Antonia E. (Flores) Yong Chon and was educated in the Cuban schools.
Prior to his formal retirement, Mr., Yong Flores was employed for many years in Cuba as a bus driver for the public transportation authorities.
He and his beloved wife, the former Caridad Quintana Ceballo, immigrated to the United States in 2011, settling in Lehigh Acres, Florida to be near family. The couple recently celebrated fifty-six years of married life together.
Above all else, Mr. Yong Flores is remembered as being a wonderfully loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather to his adoring family. His presence will be greatly missed by all those he touched in this life.
Left to cherish his memory, in addition to his wife Caridad at home, are the couple's daughters; Danaykis Yong and Damarys Yong; Four grandchildren, including Claudia Rodriguez and her husband Omar Oviedo; Rebeca Gonzalez; Josue Baile and Joel Baile; Great-grandchildren, Christopher Rubio and Gabriel Oviedo; Goddaughter, Carmen Moas; Several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
There will be a gathering of family and friends on Friday, March 3 from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the East Fort Myers location of Baldwin Brothers Funeral and Cremation Society, 4320 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers 33966.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will take place in Lee Memorial Park, Florida Route 82, Lehigh Acres at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 4 Attendees are asked to assemble directly at the cemetery by 10:45 a.m.
