Jan Smith left us peacefully on October 28, 2025, at the age of 68. Jan was born on December 10, 1956, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Ed and Ruth Renfroe. She was raised in Douglasville, Georgia, before moving to Paulding County.
Jan was a vibrant soul who spent much of her life working as an administrative assistant in the Advertising Field. Outside of work, she had a passion for arts and crafts. Whether it was crocheting or sewing, Jan poured her heart into her creations. She also loved spending weekends shopping with her daughter, Jessica, making countless memories along the way. Jan was also a cat lover and adored her cat named Talula.
Jan was a devoted member of Grace Baptist Church, where she found community and connection. She leaves behind her loving husband, Greg Smith, whom she had been married to for 34 wonderful years; her son, Joshua Evans; her daughter, Jessica (Blaine) Hurst; and her sister, Susan Lancaster. She is also survived by one niece and one nephew, all of whom will carry her spirit with them.
Jan's family will hold a memorial service to honor her life and the love she shared with so many. Details for the service will be announced at a later date. In respecting her wishes, Jan's remains will be cremated.
