Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Vitale, a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend, peacefully passed away on October 7, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on November 2, 1943, Betty lived a fulfilling life dedicated to her family and her passions.
Betty was a woman of many talents; she took great joy in DIY projects, crafting, and cooking. Her love for gardening was evident in her beautiful flowers and tomatoes, which she tended to with care. Above all, she was immensely proud of her children and cherished the time spent with her family.
Betty is survived by her three sons, Thomas Vitale, Steve Vitale, II, and Mike McGee, as well as her four grandchildren, Katie Coker, Steven "Sonny" Vitale, III, Mia Vitale, and Luca Vitale. She also leaves behind her sister, Jane Pierce, and sister-in-law, Phyllis Zwilling, along with a host of other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Betty was preceded in death by her mother, Elsie Kirby; her father, Timothy Kirby; and two daughters, Margaret "Maggie" Essen (nee Vitale) and Collen Phillips (nee McGee).
The family will gather to honor Betty's life at a visitation scheduled for October 16, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri. A funeral service will take place the following day, October 17, 2025, at 10:00 AM, also at Newcomer Funeral Home. Lastly, a graveside service will be held at Calvary Cemetery & Mausoleum, located in St. Louis, commencing at 12:00 PM on the same day.
