Mrs. Elizabeth Mathis Duncan, age 88 of Commerce passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025 at Riverside Health Care Center. Mrs. Duncan was born in Commerce to the late, J.B. and Lorene Smith Mathis. Mrs. Duncan was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and she worked at The Pottery. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Duncan was also preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Walter Duncan; and siblings, Charles Mathis, Hilda Anglin, and James Mathis. Mrs. Duncan is survived by her daughter, Cristy Owensby of Carlton; son, Keith Duncan of Georgetown, KY; granddaughters, Hailee Owensby and Anna Grace Duncan; great grandchildren, Watson Tittle and Kolson Tittle; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Sunday, August 24th at 2 PM from the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with Dr. Billy Owensby officiating with the interment following in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1-2 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations made to Mt. Olive Baptist Church or the Alzheimer's Association. Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce is in charge of arrangements.
