Funeral services for Elizabeth Funk, age 85 of Seminole, Texas, will be held Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Old Colony Mennonite Church at 2:00 p.m. with Willie Giesbrecht officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.

Mrs. Funk was born May 6, 1940 in Mexico to Justina (Fehr) and Jacob Hiebert. She married Franz Funk in Mexico on August 25, 1959. She was a loving homemaker while also working for Home Style Noodle Company and was a member of the Old Colony Mennonite Church. Elizabeth Funk was a kindhearted woman who enjoyed spending time with those closest to her, attending family gatherings and cooking for everyone. She was an avid member of her church and loved to sing and listen to the singing of those in her church community. Elizabeth cherished time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; they treasured visits at her home and the fresh bread and butter she would have prepared for them. Mrs. Funk was a kind-spirited mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Elizabeth Funk passed away on September 24, 2025 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, four brothers, four sisters, three sons, three daughters, five grandchildren. She is survived by four sons, John Funk and wife Anna, Jacob Funk and wife Cristina, and Abram Funk and wife Margarita, all of Seminole, and Franz Funk and wife Judith of Mexico; two daughters, Helena Redekopp and husband Benjamin, and Katherina Neustaeter and husband Gerhard, both of Seminole; 28 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
