It is with great sadness, the family of Elizabeth Ann (Reiss) Lucas, announces her peaceful passing after a long battle of Alzheimer's on Sunday, March 30th, 2025 at the age of 84.
Elizabeth "Betty" Reiss Lucas was the beloved daughter of the late Fred and Anna Reiss and she was the loving wife of the late Richard A. Lucas. Betty will forever be lovingly remembered by her children, Dana R. Lucas and his wife Deborah (Maloney) Lucas and Dwayne M. Lucas and his wife Doreen (Diblasi) Lucas, as well as, her late children, Delight Lucas and Scott D. Lucas. Betty is survived by her brother William Reiss and wife Barbara, late brother Robert Reiss and surviving wife Elaine, late brother Paul Reiss and surviving wife Gina, sister Barbara Reiss King and late husband James King, and brother Bruce Reiss and Martin Munger. Betty will forever be remembered as "nana" by her loving grandchildren; Anthony, Brett, Jesse, Caitlyn, and Kylee, and her four great grandchildren; Kira, Dominic, Brady, and Nolan. Betty will also be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Betty enjoyed being with her family, traveling with friends, card group nights, hosting the best Christmas Eve parties, and summer cookouts! She was also an avid tennis player, enjoyed bocce ball, and baking her specialty, "whoopie pies!" You will be deeply missed by everyone and you will always and forever be in our hearts.
The Lucas Family is eternally grateful to Benchmark Plymouth Crossings and the Beacon Hospice staff for their loving care and endless support for Betty. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association or Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
The Lucas Family invites family, friends, and loved ones to the Sullivan Funeral Homes, 551 Washington Street, Rte 53, Hanover, on Sunday, April 6th for visitation starting at 11 AM, followed by a 1 PM Catholic service in the funeral home.
