Elizabeth Ann Rivet, 76, of Barrington, NH passed away peacefully on September 21, 2024, after a valiant battle with cancer.
Liz was a loving wife and mother, a beloved member of the community, an accomplished artist and baker, and a dear friend to many. There was always a seat at the dinner table as she welcomed everyone in with her warm smile.
Professionally Liz was a leader in academic computing administration. She earned her Master of Science degree from Marquette University and her doctorate from the University of New Hampshire and served in both leadership and teaching positions at several institutions of higher education.
She gave back to the community in multiple ways, including roles on the Barrington Library Board of Trustees and the UNH Cooperative Extension Service Advisory Board. She was also deeply devoted to her rescue dogs, caring for eleven of them over many years.
She is survived by her brother and sister, her husband Jim, her two children Annie and Mike, and eleven grandchildren, all of whom will miss her immensely.
A memorial service for Liz will be held at the Purdy Memorial Chapel, 2 Concord Road (Rt. 4) in Lee, NH 03861 on Monday, October 7, 2024. Visitation will be from 11 AM - 12PM, followed by a memorial service and reception beginning at 12:30 PM.
Donations can be made in Liz's memory to the Pope Memorial Humane Society, 221 County Farm Rd, Dover NH 03820, or the Seacoast Artists Association Scholarship Fund, 130 Water Street, Exeter NH 03833.
