Carla Elizabeth Roberts, born on May 10, 1938, in Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2025. She was raised in West Columbia, Texas, and, in a break from family tradition, proudly attended The University of Texas at Austin, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in 1960. She went on to graduate from the Hermann School of Physical Therapy in 1961, launching an extraordinary and impactful career in physical therapy.
Beth was a pioneer in her field and a passionate advocate for accessibility. She played a key role in designing ADA-accessible playground equipment, leaving a global legacy of inclusion and care. She made her home in both Sedona, Arizona, and College Station, Texas, and was often recognized by grateful families and former patients whose lives she had touched.
Beth was known for her love of animals, great food, family, and the occasional stop at Buc-ee’s. Her gentle spirit, sense of humor, and unwavering compassion will be deeply missed.
She is joyfully reunited in Heaven with her mother, Elizabeth Weems; father, Reuben Loggins; brother, Burch “Sonny” Loggins; her baby; and many beloved friends and relatives.
Beth is survived by her sister-in-law—more like a sister—Donna Ruth Loggins; her nephew, Bubby Loggins; her niece, Jenny Beth Morrow; three great-nephews; two great-nieces; and seven great-great-nieces. She also leaves behind her cherished adopted family: Rebecca Hall, Theresa and Frank Clark, Katheryn Clark, Trent Jolie, and her loving caregivers.
A graveside service and birthday celebration of Beth’s life will be held on May 10, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., at Old Columbia Cemetery, 401 S. 16th St., West Columbia, TX.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Beth’s honor to the Texas A&M School of Veterinary Medicine at txamfoundation.com, reflecting her deep love for animals.
