Elizabeth Mary Sparrow Skeen, age 83, passed away on October 5, 2025, at The Rehab Center and Memory Care in Bristol, Virginia. She was born on January 1, 1942, in Dunville, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, to the late Anthony Sparrow and Veronica (Barron) Sparrow. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth Cameron Skeen.

Elizabeth is survived by her two sons, Keith Cameron Skeen and his wife Brittney of Bristol, TN, and their daughter McKenna; and Kenneth Corbin Skeen and his wife Jeanine of Bowling Green, KY, and their sons Wesley Stone and Heath Holloman. She is also survived by two sisters, Patricia M. Schuth of Danville, CA, and Marella Varanese and her husband Gregory of North Olmsted, OH; two brothers, Donald J. Sparrow, Sr., and Anthony G. Sparrow and his wife Imelda, both of Dunville, NL. She leaves behind several special nieces and nephews in both Canada and the United States.

Elizabeth was a longtime and faithful member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Bristol, VA, where she worshipped for over 45 years. She retired from Cozart Enterprise in Abingdon, VA, in May 2016 after 24 years of dedicated service.

Visitation with the family will be held 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 20, 2025, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 316 Euclid Avenue, Bristol, VA. A Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Father Tom Lawerence officiating. Committal services will be held at 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum of Forest Hills Memory Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Michelle Fulcher and her team at The Rehab Center and Memory Care of Bristol for their exceptional care and love over the last several years, and to Caris Hospice for ensuring comfort and dignity in her final days.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Elizabeth’s memory to St. Anne Catholic School, 580 Oakview Avenue, Bristol, VA 24201.
