It is with great sorrow that our family announces the passing of Elizabeth "Beth" Sue Sobecki, 89, of Citra Florida. She passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025 surrounded by her devoted husband, William "Bill" Sobecki and her loving family.
Beth was born to Rayford and Gladys Butler, October 8, 1935 in Pierson, Georgia. She married her first husband, Calvin Johnson 1956 and together they raised their children, John K, Bobby Ray, Timothy, Lynn, Michael, Richard, Keven, Patricia and Bill.
After her first husband's passing in 1987, she found love again with her second husband William "Bill" Sobecki with whom she spent the remaining 35 years of her life.
Beth is survived by her devoted loving husband; William "Bill" Sobecki, children; John K (Mary), Bobby Ray, Lynn (Clifton), Kevin (Chris), William (Carol); brother, Ray Butler; 17 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; many nephews and nieces, as well as Diana Bilski who was a loving niece and caregiver.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Rayford and Gladys Butler, first husband; Calvin Johnson, sister; Mary Brooks, children; Patricia, Richard, Timothy and Michael.
Beth retired from the State of Florida as a bookkeeper at Forest High School. She loved playing cards and bingo. She was a faithful member of Christ the King, where she sang in the choir and her husband Bill was choir director. She and her husband also sang at different venues.
Please join us celebrating her life on Saturday, October 11, 2025. A service will take place at Countryside Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M. with a visitation an hour prior and interment to follow at Highland Memorial Park.
