Elizabeth Willis Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 1, 2025.
Elizabeth "Betty" H. Willis, 85, of Ormond Beach, FL, went to her heavenly home August 15, 2025, following a lengthy battle with dementia. She passed peacefully under the excellent care of Canal View Rest Home and with the support of Vitas Hospice.
Betty was born October 3, 1939 to Albert C. Hall and Grace B. Hall in Washington, D.C., and graduated from Bladensburg High School in Bladensburg, MD. She relocated to Daytona Beach, Florida and later to Ormond Beach, Florida in the late 1950s to early 1960s.
Throughout her life, Betty held several meaningful roles. She worked at General Electric during the Apollo Missions and later dedicated 33 years to the Daytona Beach Police Department in the Records Division. Her service extended through numerous yearly citywide special events, including Race Weeks, Bike Weeks, Spring Breaks, and many more - earning her multiple awards for her unwavering dedication and support.
Betty brought holiday cheer to the Police Department every Christmas and Holiday Season, decorating the Records Department and common areas - always including her beloved and favorite candy tree. Christmas was her favorite time of the year. In addition to her full-time role, she worked second jobs at May Cohen's Department Store and the Ocean Center in the evenings.
She was a social spirit who enjoyed meeting people, visiting family, listening to country music, following ARCA and NASCAR, spending time with her biker friends, clogging, and taking trips to the Disney parks.
Betty was predeceased by her parents; brother, James Root; eldest daughter, Judie Stanfield, son in law, Jimmy Stanfield.
She is survived by her children: Jenni Willis, Robin Willis, Robert S. Willis (Natasha), and Kim Parsley (Jim); 11 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom knew her lovingly as "Nana."
A family hosted Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM at 316 North Street, Daytona Beach, Florida 32114.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in remembrance of Betty's memory to a charity of your choice or to Marilou Hurlburt of Canal View Rest Home, 864 Canal View Boulevard, Port Orange, FL 32129 - who gave over 10 years of devoted and loving care to Betty until her peaceful passing.
