TINTON FALLS – ELLEN BAND (née Levine) passed away on March 26, 2024, at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune, NJ. She was 82 years old.
Ellen was born in East Orange, NJ to Jack and Dorothy (née Altman) Levine. She resided in East Brunswick for most of her adult life. She then moved to Monroe Township near all of her close friends before settling down in Tinton Falls two and a half years ago.
Prior to retiring, she worked as a secretary for the East Brunswick Jewish Center in East Brunswick, where she worked for 28 years.
Ellen was a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed playing mah-jongg and canasta with her friends, spending time with her family and grandchildren and making trips to the casino whenever possible. She even became an Ambassador at her Arbor Terrace in Shrewsbury. Ellen was one of the kindest people you could ever meet. She was a loyal friend to many and she will be greatly missed.
Ellen is predeceased by her parents, Jack and Dorthy Levine.
Surviving are her son, Kenneth Band and his wife, Felice, of Westfield, N.J; her daughter, Jill Landis and her husband, Scott, of North Wales, PA; her sister, Janet Altman of West Chester, PA and her three grandchildren, Matthew, Justin and Brent. Also surviving is her niece, Jaclyn Fitzgerald and her husband, Brian, and their two children, Keegan and Shaye.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024, at 10:45 am, at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, 189 Gill Lane, Iselin, NJ, under the direction of MOUNT SINAI MEMORIAL CHAPELS, East Brunswick. For directions, please view our "Events" listed below.
