Ellen Louise Bishop

Ellen Louise (née Birdsall) Bishop, age 95, of Warren, Michigan, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026, in her hometown. Born March 25, 1930, in Warren, she was the beloved daughter of Keller and Bernadette Birdsall.

Ellen lived a full and joyful life centered on family, friendship, and simple pleasures. She loved playing bingo, visiting the casino, and hosting lively poker games with family and friends. A patient and determined puzzler, she proudly completed more than 1,000 puzzles over the years. She cherished weekend camping trips and memorable vacations with her daughter Dawn and family, traveling to Walt Disney World, Atlantic City, Niagara Falls, Rocky Mountain National Park, and Great Smoky Mountains National Park, often staying in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. She treasured time spent with her son Joe and spoke fondly of special adventures, including her first airplane trip to Las Vegas, Nevada with Dawn and a scenic train journey through the Canadian Rockies with her grandson Justin.

She is survived by her loving children, Joseph Bishop Jr. and Dawn (Herbert Jr.) Tree; grandchildren Joseph Ledbetter, Justin Bishop, Erin Bishop, Stephanie (Andrew) Johnson, Herbert Tree III (Jamie Pratt), and Keller Tree (Aria Peterson); and many cherished great-grandchildren: Tyler, Bryce, Ella, Zachary, and Bentley Johnson; Iris and Owen Tree; Nicolas, Sophia, and Rowyn McKenzie; and Jordyn, Christian, and Karsyn Pratt.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter Bernice Bulich; daughter-in-law Sandy Totic; granddaughter Ashley Totic; and grandson-in-law Bill McKenzie.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. at Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home, 13650 E. Fifteen Mile, Sterling Heights, Michigan.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia Research Foundation or the American Cancer Society in Ellen's memory. She will be remembered for her warmth, her love of laughter and games, and the joy she found in every moment spent with those she loved.
