Ellen MacFarlane

WAREHAM – Ellen MacFarlane, 75, of East Wareham passed away at home on Nov. 3, 2023, while surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Hathaway) MacFarlane.
She was born and raised in Taunton before moving to Wareham in 2003. She graduated from Taunton High School and later earned her L.P.N. and R.N in nursing.
Ellen began working at the Taunton State Hospital at 18 years old. There she found her passion for caring for those who couldn't care for themselves. She worked there for 38 years before retiring.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking, and spending time with her family. She liked keeping in touch with distant friends and family through Facebook and was an avid animal lover with several cats and dogs throughout her lifetime. She was a loving, hardworking, and wonderful single mother who will be missed dearly. She loved her family, especially her "baby girl" granddaughter, Kelsey.
Survivors include her daughter, Tara Haskins and her husband, Michael Haskins of Wareham; her siblings, Chuck MacFarlane and his wife Alison and Jane Thetonia and her husband Arnie all of Middleboro, Maria Golemo and the late Steven Golemo of Wareham, and Fred MacFarlane and his wife Cindy of West Warwick, her granddaughter Kelsey Haskins of East Wareham; many nephews, nieces, great nephews, and great nieces.
Visting hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – WAREHAM, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham.
