Ellen M. Wallace

Ellen M. Wallace, transitioned on September 23, 2025. She was born in Napoleonville, La. on November 27, 1936, to the late Doidy Lang Sr. and the late Ethel Dabney Lang. At the age of nine, Ellen moved to New Orleans, La. with her aunt and as a child, she devoted her life to Christ and was baptized at an early age. She finished school and worked several jobs throughout the years with her last employment being at Ochsner Medical Center Main Campus in housekeeping. She is preceded in death by her late husband Percy Wallace Sr., one son Gerald Wallace, one daughter Shannon Wallace, two grandchildren Alvin and Tontanisha Wallace, three brothers Sylvester, Harrison, and Whitney Lang, two sisters Bernice Reid and Martha Gray. She is survived by one son Percy Wallace Jr., four daughters Earline Wallace, Troylynn Hayes, Latonya Handy, and Catherine Wallace, one brother Doidy Lang Jr., one sister Ethel Hurst, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Services on Friday October 3, 2025, at Rock of Ages Baptist Church, 2515 Franklin Avenue, New Orleans, La. 70117. Visitation from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Funeral Services for 10:00 a.m. Rev. Jonathan Everett, Sr. officiating. Interment: Providence Memorial Park Cemetery, 8200 Airline Dr. Metairie, La. 70003.
