Ellia Pierre Denis

Death is an inevitable passage, yet we never truly come to terms with the loss of a loved one.
With profound sadness, the Denis family announces the passing of our beloved Mrs. Ledan Denis, born Ellia Pierre-affectionately known as Madan Tirann or Mant Ellia to close friends and younger family members. She departed this life on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at Norwalk Hospital, CT, USA, after a courageous battle with illness, at the age of 80.
Born on April 11, 1944, in a small town in southern Haiti, Ellia Pierre Denis married Ledan Denis on September 25, 1975, in Port Salut. She embraced life with grace, finding joy in simple pleasures and the company of her loved ones. A devoted wife and mother, she exemplified generosity, resilience, and unwavering kindness. Her warmth, humor, patience, and love for music and song brought immense joy and unforgettable memories to those around her.
In this time of sorrow, she is deeply mourned by her devoted husband, Mr. Ledan Denis; her daughters, Lucide, Lenide, Enide, and Léonne Denis; her adopted son, Ermanix Denis; her granddaughters, Jennifer Wedly Anozier and Lineya Nisha Newoodshy Denis; her sisters, Anthonide Pierre and Marie Lita Vieudaze; her brothers, Vemoi and Guilermo Vieudaze; her sisters-in-law, Madame Bernadette, Marie Josephine, and Léonide Denis; her brothers-in-law, Excellent and Bertrand Denis; and Venus, Venide, Jaunide, and Jones Mongérard, who stood by her side throughout her illness. She is also lovingly remembered by the Denis, Pierre, Vieudaze, Nestan, and Mongérard families, along with her stepsons, her many nephews, nieces, relatives, and dear friends.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. at Gallagher Funeral Home, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902.
A farewell ceremony to honor and celebrate the life of Mrs. Denis will take place on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 85 S Main St, Norwalk, CT 06854.
Mant Ellia's passing leaves an irreplaceable void in our hearts, but as the Lord has given, the Lord has taken away. May His name be forever blessed.
