Paquelet and Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral HomesEllis R. Skaggs, a cherished figure in both his family and community, passed away on November 20, 2025, at the age of 70. He was born on March 19, 1955, and throughout his life, he embodied dedication and warmth, qualities that endeared him to many.
Ellis devoted a significant part of his career to HVAC services, where his expertise and commitment to quality work were widely recognized. He took immense pride in providing comfort to others and his professionalism left a lasting impression on both colleagues and clients. His passion for his work was evident in every project he undertook, and he inspired those around him to strive for excellence.
A proud graduate of Washington High School, Ellis carried the values of hard work and perseverance into his adult life. He was not only a skilled tradesman but also a loving family man who deeply treasured the relationships he built over the years.
Ellis is survived by his loving life-long partner, Sheila Torre. He was a devoted father to his sons, Scott (Nicole) Skaggs and Michael (Kristin) Skaggs. He also embraced the roles of stepfather to Annie Young and Jason Torre, forging strong bonds that reflected his nurturing spirit. The joy of being a grandfather lit up his life; he is remembered fondly by his grandsons, Zain and Mason Skaggs, and his granddaughter, Mileena Skaggs.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Skaggs, and his father, Ellis Skaggs, both of whom he held close to his heart and whose memories remained an integral part of his identity.
Ellis R. Skaggs will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family and many friends. His legacy of kindness, laughter, and service will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
A visitation in honor of Ellis will take place on December 1, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM, both held at Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home located at 1100 Wales Rd NE, Massillon, OH 44646. The day will culminate in a Celebration of Life at the Amvets Post #12, situated at 653 Earl Road Northwest, Massillon, OH 44647 after the services.
