Jack is the beloved husband of Nancy (nee Walters); devoted father of Elizabeth "Liz" (John) DeGirolamo, Christine (Mike Merritt) Erickson, Patty (Shawn Pearson) Erickson and Heidi Erickson; cherished Grandpa and Poppy of Amalia DeGirolamo, Danny DeGirolamo, Nicholas Erickson, Christopher Erickson and Michael Krolik, Great Poppy of Enzo Erickson and Atticus Erickson; beloved son of the late Elmer and Viola Erickson; dear son-in-law of the late Ira and Eleanor Walters; loving brother of the late Alice (Ron) White; dear brother-in-law of Paula (Ronnie, deceased) Alexander, Gary (Kiyoko) Walters and the late Sarah Handley; dear uncle and great uncle of many.
Jack proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was also a retired Shaker Hts. police officer where he dedicated his life serving his community. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Shaker Hts Lodge #23 and a member of the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club Ohio Chapter XII.
The family will receive friends 4-7PM WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 13, 2025 at Busch-Romito Funeral Home, 521 Broadway Ave., Bedford, OH (440-232-1441). A Graveside Service with military honors will be held at 1:45PM Thursday, August 14, 2025 at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd., Seville, OH 44273. (Please arrive at the cemetery no later than 1:30PM.)
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Jack's name to a charity of your choice.
