He was born on August 2, 1950 in Chardon, OH, the son of Elmer Sr. and Ruth (Moore) Johnson. After high school, Mr. Johnson proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Following his military service, he built a long career as an electrician and supervisor at CEI. Elmer had a passion for the open road, often enjoying motorcycle rides with friends. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing, and for many years was an active member of a local dart league. He also served as an officer of the Amboy Rifle Club.
Left to cherish the memories of Elmer is his wife, Deborah Johnson, whom he married on May 10, 1969; children, Christine (Ruford) Hamilton and Amy Jo Blaney; grandchildren, Michael, Bryan, Tyler, Chelsea, and Justin; 15 great grandchildren; and his siblings, Diane (Doug) Flack and Charles (Becky) Johnson.
A gathering for friends and family will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025 from 1PM-2PM in the chapel at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, 3140 E Center St, Conneaut, OH 44030.
Funeral arrangements were trusted to Ducro Funeral Services and Crematory, 4524 Elm Ave. Ashtabula, OH. Online obituary and condolences can be made at www.ducro.com.
