Elnora Raper

Elnora Raper, of Marionville, MO, went home to be with her Lord on February 01, 2024, with her loving family by her side. She was born on September 22, 1928, in Hurley, MO, to Leslie and Vesta (Merritt) Gold. Elnora was one of five children in the home.
She graduated from Hurley High School with the class of 1946. On April 03, 1948, Elnora married the love of her life, Bobby Raper. This union was blessed with one daughter, Kathy. Elnora spent most of her career in the banking industry. She was a bank manager in California and when the family relocated back to Missouri, she continued in customer service until she retired at the age of 77. She loved to garden, growing delicious vegetables that she took great pride in, and she would gather them up and give most of them to family, friends, and neighbors. Elnora had a knack for growing the most beautiful Zinnia's, and she also made the best hot rolls ever. She loved her family and the time she was able to spend with them, especially when she would encourage them to help her pull weeds and hoe the garden, which she loved to do. She was at her happiest when she was out in the garden.
Elnora is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Bobby, siblings Ellen Pilz, Bill Gold, Tommy Gold and Sugar Marie Wolfe as well as many other dear friends and relatives whom she is now rejoicing with in heaven.
She is survived by her daughter Kathy Wheeler and husband John, grandchildren Melisa Vodden and Steven Vodden, five great grandchildren Ian, Charli, Julian, Brantley, and Eli as well as other extended family and countless friends. Elnora will be greatly missed by her family, whom she cherished so much.
A Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, February 06, 2024, from 11am – 1pm at Meadors Funeral Home in Clever. Funeral services will follow at 1pm. Elnora will be laid to rest next to her late husband Bobby in Crane Community Cemetery.
