Eloise Rock Puglisi, beloved mother of three and grandmother of two, died peacefully at her home in Belleair Bluffs, FL on January 6, 2023. Born in Charleston WV on June 26, 1927, the daughter of William Dane Hughes and Myrtle Butcher Hughes, who predeceased her, along with her brother Orville Hughes and his wife June Hughes. She graduated from West Virginia University and subsequently received her Master's Degree from Marshall University while she was teaching. Eloise began working as an auditor and then spent the majority of her career as a teacher in Wheeling, WV. She retired in 1989 as Chair of the Business Education Department at Wheeling Park High School.
A very active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Woman's Club of Wheeling, Eloise also was a devoted member of Lawrencefield Parish Church in Wheeling.
Eloise was predeceased by her first husband Andrew V. Rock Jr. JD in 1982 and by her second husband Vincent Puglisi in 2010. She is survived by her son Andrew T. Rock and his wife Darlene S. Schuster PhD of Clearwater Beach, FL, her daughters Diane E. Rock of Belleair Bluffs, FL and Andrea J. Rock of Peekskill, NY and grandsons Adam C. Yahn of Stamford, CT and Chad A. Yahn of Yonkers, NY, as well as her sister Shirley Blair of Charleston, WV, and nieces Kathy Blair Sestak of Leesburg, VA. and Linda Blair Albright of Martinsburg, WV.
Two memorial services will be held at date to be announced. The first commencing at Calvary Episcopal Church in Indian Rocks Beach, FL and interment at Lawrencefield Chapel in Wheeling, WV.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the following charities: Feherty's Troops First Foundation and Dementia Society of America.
