Else Theophilia Dede began her new birth into eternal life on July 8, 2022 at the age of 91 while in
hospice. She was born in Sankt Onufry, Romania on December 16, 1930.
Else left Romania with her family before WW2 and was in several relocation camps before the end of
the war which found her near Oberarnbach, Germany. She worked as an interpreter after the war for
the US Army.
After her marriage to Vernon Leroy Dede, she emigrated to the United States. As an Air Force wife she
travelled all over the United States making a home for the family which included 5 children. The family
would explore each new location by hiking, camping and fishing. They shared 62 wonderful years.
Else was a Girl Scout Leader, den mother for Cub Scouts, and volunteered for the Air Force Aid Society.
She was an active member of St Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, the Keller Women's club, and the Keller
Garden Club. She loved being of service to others. Else enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader.
She was preceded in death by her husband in December 2015 and by two children, Dorothy Wood
(Stuart) and Vernon Dede, Jr. (Mary)
Else is survived by Diana Heinle (Allan), Patricia Larmon (Paul), Robert Dede (Deanna) and 7
grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Zitta Gillan of Baltimore, MD.
The funeral mass will be held on Sept 9, 2022 at 10:30 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Keller, Texas.
A rosary will precede the mass at 10:00 with a reception following. Internment at Dallas Fort Worth National
Cemetery will be family only later that afternoon.
Else requested donations to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, the Keller Women's Club or the Keller
Garden Club in lieu of flowers.
