Elsie Mae Everetts, age 90, of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, July 17, 2025. She was born August 31, 1934, in Waverly, the daughter of the late William Richard and Junie (Snider) Skidmore. She was a member of the Rainsboro United Methodist Church and later attended the Rainsboro Church of Christ. Elsie was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Elsie is survived by two daughters, Deborah (David) Ellison and Linda Kelch, both of Hillsboro; two grandchildren, Andrea (Scott) Anderson and Chad (Jamie) Peabody; and three great-grandchildren, Harley Peabody, Hunter Peabody, and Gavin Anderson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Maxine Roberts; her brother, Homer Skidmore; and her beloved husband, Ernest Glenn Everetts, who passed away on May 23, 2000. Elsie was very engaged in the church, teaching Sunday school and Bible school, in addition to running the food pantry for many years. A graveside service for friends and family will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at the Gilboa Cemetery, with Jeff Satterfield officiating.
