Elsie D. Wheat

ROSEDALE-Elsie D. Wheat, 93, of Rosedale, Indiana passed away Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. She retired from the Rosedale School cafeteria with 32 years of service and worked many summers for Lane's Potato Farm.
She was born August 1, 1932, in Posey Township, Clay County, Indiana to the late Jay Ray Butt and Goldie Winn Butt together they raised nine children. She was preceded in death by her husband William Wheat in 1997.
Survivors include three sons, John (Cheryl) Quigley of Terre Haute, William (Jane) Wheat of Bradenton, Florida and Bert Wheat; many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was a graduate of Staunton High School. She was a member of the Rosedale United Methodist Church and the 3 M Club.
Services will be 2 pm Wednesday August 13, at Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home, 281 N. Main Street, Rosedale, with Pastor Randy McPike officiating. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation is one hour before the service on Wednesday.
