Obituary
Emilie Geiling, 45, of Cumming, Georgia, passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends on July 31, 2023.
She is survived by her loving family, including husband, John I. Geiling, children, William, Dione and Timothy, stepchildren, John, Ellen, Peter, David and Pamela, father, Emauel Mendy, mother, Savdou Dacosta and three brothers, Philip, Rene and Zoe.
Originally from Dakar, Senegal, Emilie was extremely proud to have earned her U.S. citizenship. When she first moved to the U.S., Emilie shared her talent as a hair artist, braiding hair for a growing clientele, many who turned into close friends. She also joined the Food Service Team at Cumming Elementary School where she enjoyed the camaraderie with her colleagues and delighted in serving the students each day. By far, Emilie's most prized and rewarding role was as a devoted mother and wife to her family. Emilie was deeply spiritual and remained loyal to her Catholic beliefs all her life.
Emilie's loving heart and generous spirit made her loved by all who knew her. It is in this way her family asks she be remembered.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023, from 12:00PM-2:00PM at McDonald and Son Funeral Home. A service will immediately follow the visitation in the chapel of McDonald and Son at 2:00PM.
Condolences may be expressed at www.mcdonaldandson.com. Arrangements by McDonald and Son Funeral Home, 150 Sawnee Drive, Cumming, GA 30040 (770) 886.9899.
