Emilie Tsosie

06/18/1976 ~ 09/11/2021

Emilie "Em & M's" Pontius Tsosie, age 45, passed away peacefully and returned to our Father in Heaven on September 11, 2021.

Emilie was welcomed into this world on June 18, 1976 in Ogden, Utah by her loving parents Aaron S. Pontius and Jeannette Rooks (Pontius). With her passion for music, Emilie had a natural ability to learn and sing music. She quickly taught herself how to play the piano in addition to the viola, and her singing filled the lives of those who loved her. Emilie embraced the Navajo traditions and helped pass them onto her children. She had many crafty talents like crocheting, needle work, sketching, jewelry making and was about to embark on a new hobby whittling. .

Emilie graduated from Roy High School. She later went on to earn her Cosmetology license from Del Mar College, and pursued a lifelong career as a hairstylist, nail and lash artist. Emilie passed and received her insurance license and currently worked with Allstate Insurance Company. Emilie was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and lived her life dedicated to her faith. She found joy in serving others through her callings.

Emilie and Anthony were married for 27 years. Meeting in church their friendship grew and they married on July 13, 1994 in the Ogden Temple, which was her favorite. Their family grew shortly after and they raised five beautiful children. Her love for her children was beyond words, and could be seen between cheer practices, beauty pageants, sports, and concerts. Emilie loved spending every moment she could with her wonderful family and her pets.

Emilie leaves behind her husband Anthony, their five children Aubrey, Jaron, Shanna, Kianna, and Ammaron, her parents, and her mother-in-law Shirley Tsosie, and her siblings Angela Pontius (Amidan), Heather Pontius (Mouser), Karen Pontius (Kirkman), and Michael Pontius and their spouses, nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by all of her grandparents, father-in-law Leo Tsosie, brother-in-law J. Tsosie and her very special niece Brittany Amidan.

Emilie was genuine and sincere. She always strived to put others' needs above her own in every way possible. Emilie always wanted to ensure everyone knew they had a special place in her heart. As she was a ray of sunshine for everyone, we are reminded of her favorite childhood song, "The Sun will come out tomorrow".
