Emilio Garza (JR), 73, of Aransas Pass, Texas, passed away on August 25, 2025.

Emilio was born on July 2, 1952, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Lily (Peacock) and Emilio Garza. A devoted family man and a pillar of his community, Emilio will be remembered for his generous spirit, hardworking nature, and unwavering commitment to helping others.

He had a deep love for fishing and barbecuing-two passions that brought people together and created countless cherished memories. Known affectionately as "Mr. Fix It," JR was always ready with a smile and a helping hand, becoming the go-to person when something needed repair. His practical talents were matched by his dedication to mentoring and leading others, especially as an Assistant Scoutmaster, Little League baseball coach for his children, and in his lovingly coined role as "Poppy Bootcamp," where he inspired family and friends with wisdom, strength, and compassion. Above all, JR was most proud of the love he shared with his family and his beloved wife of 54 years, Dena Garza. His devotion to them was the heart of his life.

Emilio was preceded in death by his son: Christopher Scott Garza; his parents: Emilio and Lily Garza; in-laws: Raymond Pace and Frances Ussery.

He is survived by his loving wife: Dena Garza of 54 years from Aransas Pass, Texas; son: Bryan (Julie) Garza, : Christi Garza; father-in-law: Earl Ussery; siblings: Linda Huerta, Arthur Garza and Richard Garza; grandchildren: Amanda van Loon, Sage Dabney, Kirby Garza, Ever Garza, Jonah Aguirre, Emily Garza, Bryce Garza, Josef Aguirre, and BJ Aguirre; great-grandson: Jasper, Rory, Fitz, and Archie; and numerous nieces and nephews., Emilio's presence was a gift to all who knew him, and his legacy will live on through the lives he touched.
