Emily Mae "Sis" Eoute, 93, of Mill Hall passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Monday, August 18, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones at home.
Born April 14, 1932 in Lock Haven, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Mamie Keister Sweeley.
Emily was a dedicated employee, working for Sylvania, Montoursville for over 30 years. Throughout these years, she picked up evening and weekend shifts waitressing at Travel Centers of America where she had the privilege of meeting many country stars. After Sylvania's closing, she was employed at Bald Eagle Truck Stop for 32 years, where her boss, Sonny Singh, affectionately referred to her as his "American Mother." Emily finally retired at the age of 86.
Even more than being a dedicated employee was her devotion to her family. Emily worked hard to provide for her family, ensuring they had everything they needed. She loved coming together around food, whether she was cooking for them or eating homemade goodies brought to her.
Surviving are her siblings: Kenneth (Melinda) Sweeley of Florida, Leonard Sweeley of Howard, Janice Fasano of Delaware and Dorothy Ferree of Lock Haven; her grandchildren: Glenn (Christie) Sweeley, Jr. of Ulysses, Glenda (Jason) Killinger of Mill Hall, Robert Sweeley (Cameron M.) of Mill Hall and Joni (Matt) Crow of McElhattan; nine great grandchildren: Chloe, Abby, Hadleigh, Carter, Jason, Morgan, Spencer, Lanie and Macie; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and many friends.
Along with her husband, Lawrence Eoute (1985), she was preceded in death by her son, Glenn Sweeley Sr. (2019); three brothers; and four sisters.
In following her wishes, there will be no services.
Emily's family wishes to extended their sincere appreciation to UPMC Hospice for their care and compassion. The nurses, especially Amber Lusk, made a difficult time more bearable. A special thank you is also extended to a dear friend and neighbor, Bill Baney, for all the assistance he has provided as well as to Brandi Conklin for her last-minute support and assistance with Emily's end of life care.
Memorial contributions in Emily's name may be made to James E. Van Zandt Medical Center, c/o Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, PA 17745.
