Emily Nicole Mauricio, 32 years of age, of Pampa, Texas, peacefully drew her last breath this side of Heaven surrounded by family and friends on Thursday, October 8, 2024, in Amarillo. She was born on November 8, 1991, in Amarillo to Dora Mauricio.
Emily was raised in Pampa, graduating from Pampa High School with the Class of 2010. She was a lifelong resident of Pampa with the exception of a three-year stint when she lived in Grand Prairie before moving back to her hometown two years ago. Throughout her work career, she cooked at restaurants, was convenience store clerk, and an awesome caregiver to her Aunt Rosa for over a year.
Slim (a nickname that was lovingly donned to her by a cousin), simply loved to be surrounded by water – floatin' and chillin' while listening to her favorite tunes drowning out the world. Being a lover of various genres of music, she danced every weekend when given the opportunity with her cousins. Slim thought she could sing, but perhaps, it was best if she just sang in the shower.
With a smile that could light up a room and a happy, bubbly personality that was certain to lift spirits, Emily was always a blast to be around and carried an aura that just simply attracted people close to her. She was the epitome of a super sweet and caring demeanor, so much so, that she typically cared for others more than herself – always the last to love herself. Family was everything to her, especially her brothers! Emily was loved by many and will be missed big!
Upon her arrival into Heaven, she was reunited with her grandmother, Gloria Mauricio as well as several of her extended family.
Her larger-than-life personality and happy-go-lucky attitude will forever be cherished by her parents, Dora and Michael "Big Mac" Ryan; three brothers, Joshua Corderro Mauricio, Marcus Ryan and Anthony Ryan all of Pampa; her companion, Ruby Renea Fortenberry of Pampa; her two fur babies, Nick and Delilah as well as a vast number of aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members whom all truly loved her.
For anyone wishing to make a donation in honor of Emily, the family kindly suggests that they be made to either the Go Fund Me on Facebook or to Pampa Animal Welfare Society (P.A.W.S.), PO Box 2095, Pampa, TX 79066-2095.
Update: Celebration of Life Memorial services are scheduled for 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Briarwood Church with Pastor Jamisen Hancock. The family has entrusted the cremation care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.
