Let us celebrate the life journey of Emily Burton Sippel. Emily returned to Our Lord on May 24, 2025 at age 73. She resided in Doylestown at the time of her passing. Emily was a bright light that shined on everyone who loved her and whom she loved.
Emily was a graduate of Earlham College, a liberal arts college established by the Religious Society of Friends, Richmond, IN. She is a graduate of George School. Following college, Emily was employed as an administrative assistant at The Quaker School at Horsham. She was affiliated with the Wrightstown Friends Meeting.
Emily had a true spirit of generosity. She was a gentlewoman who put the concerns of others above her own needs. She lived the values of her faith: generosity, integrity, humility and a genuine concern for social justice.
Emily generously volunteered her time and talent to several Bucks County area organizations. She had a special fondness for museums, theater, and cultural places. She served on the Board of Directors of the Friends of the Bucks County Historical Society, and in a leadership position as Board President.
Emily was an enthusiastic volunteer on the Hospitality Team with Town & Country Players Theater, Buckingham, PA, and as an usher for opening night performances.
Emily was a longtime member and loyal supporter of the Historical Fallsington, Inc.
Emily always looked forward to her favorite excursions: Annual trips to the Kutztown Folk Festival, Longwood Gardens, Pennsylvania Farm Show, and the Baseball Hall of Fame, Cooperstown, NY.
Emily is the beloved daughter of her late parents, Tony Burton and Ruth Burton. She is survived by her brother Craig Burton, nephew Ryan Burton, and cousins John Burton and Jean Burton.
In her endeavors Emily sought to do all things with great love.
Services were private under the direction of the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home/Central Bucks Crematory, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901.
