Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Julian Rachwal and Josephine (Najduk) Rachwal, Sophie resided in Doylestown, PA for 65 years.
Sophie was a former salon owner and worked as a hair stylist in the industry for 20 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church of Doylestown and the Ladies of Mt. Carmel. Sophie assisted with rummage sales and also enjoyed painting ceramics.
She was the beloved wife of 62 years to William "Bill" Bohnel; devoted mother of William Bohnel, Jr. and the late Steven M. Bohnel; dear sister of Victoria Guzik and late husband Joseph, Mary Allen and late husband William; loving grandmother of Steven Bohnel, Jr., Corinne Bohnel and Nataline Kolbe; former mother-in-law of Nicole Maragia.
The family will receive their friends at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 235 E. State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 from 9:30-10:30 am, with a mass to begin at 10:30 am.
Cremation services were private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or www.stjude.org would be appreciated.
