Emily Irene Weaver, 82, of Groves, Texas was born on September 20, 1942, in Port Arthur, Texas. She passed away peacefully on March 19, 2025. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great great grandmother to one. Her generous heart touched all those fortunate enough to know her.
Emily was a self-employed seamstress, renowned for her exceptional skill and creativity in her craft. An excellent seamstress, she dedicated countless hours in her sewing room, transforming fabric into beautiful garments that were cherished by family and friends alike. Emily's dedication extended beyond her sewing; she was also a fantastic cook, ensuring that no one was ever hungry. Her dining table was a place where family and friends gathered, and lasting memories were created.
Her warm personality and welcoming nature made Emily a beloved figure in her community. She treated everyone like family, fostering a sense of belonging and love wherever she went. She loved her family dearly and took immense pride in the lives of each of them.
Emily leaves behind her loving daughters, Kellee Smith and her husband, Tom, of Port Arthur, Texas, and Dimity DeLano and her husband, Tim, of Kerrville, Texas. She is also survived by a legacy of love through her grandchildren: Landon Smith, Matthew and Ashley Smith, Tanner and Lea Smith, Cameron and Mackenzie Smith, Trevor DeLano, and Jerian and Roy Malett. Furthermore, she was the proud grandmother of 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, each of whom brought her immense joy.
Emily reunited in eternal rest with her husband of nearly 50 years, Jerry Weaver, and her beloved parents, Hatton and Anel Greer. She was the youngest of 12 children and was preceded in death by her siblings: Leona, Mildred, Ellender, Debbie, Anel, Hatton, George, David, Dan, Minnie, and Sam.
Family, friends, and acquaintances will gather to honor her memory with a visitation on March 25, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at the Landmark United Pentecostal Church, located at 2115 Nall St, Port Neches, Texas. A graveside service will take place on March 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, situated at 618 Block Street, Port Neches, Texas.
Emily Irene Weaver’s legacy of love, care, and creativity will forever be cherished by all whose lives she touched, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
