Emma S. Hoffa, 77, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. Born on October 15, 1947, in Smiths Grove, Kentucky, to the late Edward and Opal Sanders, Emma's life was a testament to warmth and generosity.
Known affectionately as "Betty Crocker" for her exceptional culinary skills, Emma delighted in preparing meals and baking cakes for her family and friends. Her joy was found in shared moments, especially with her cherished grandson, Brady. Emma's home was a haven, beautifully decorated and filled with laughter during holiday gatherings. On sunny days, she found solace and happiness by her backyard pool.
Emma's legacy of love and family lives on through her devoted husband, George Hoffa III; her daughters, Tricia Wilson (Pete) and Robin Hoffa Vance (Dennis), both of Jeffersonville, IN; her son, George "Chip" Hoffa IV of New York City, NY; her beloved grandson, Brady Edward Wilson; her brothers, Tom Sanders (Diane) and Quinton Sanders (Virginia); brother-in-law Joe Lee (Lisa); her sister, Paula Sanders; and a multitude of loving nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate Emma's life will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. at E.M. Coots' Sons Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until the service at the Funeral Home.
