Emmanuel Sang, age 43, passed away from natural causes on September 6, 2024. His final resting place will be in Kericho, Kenya.
Emmanuel was born on January 1, 1981, in Kericho, Kenya. He grew up in Kericho and later moved to Jefferson, Iowa, U.S.A., in 2008. He was the father of two children, Charlotte and Gideon. They were his pride and joy.
Emmanuel was a Civil Engineer. He graduated from the Technical University of Mombasa located in Mombasa, Kenya. He also earned an associate's degree in Drafting and Design in the U.S., which prepared him for his engineering position with the Department of Natural Resources. He worked for the State of Iowa for 10 years.
Emmanuel enjoyed talking with people and was a friendly face to many. He was a believer in Jesus Christ from a young age and is now at peace in his heavenly home with his Savior.
Emmanuel is survived by his children, Charlotte and Gideon; his former wife, Omega; his mother, Alice Chelangat Kitur; his grandmother, Obot Rusi; his siblings, Lillian Chepkemoi Cheruiyot (Charles), Janet Chepkirui Kitur, Diana Cherotich Kitur (Jackson), Jeffrey Kiplangat Sang (Carolyne) and Isaiah Kiprotich Sang (Maureen); and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Samwel Kipsang Chepkwony Kitur; his grandfathers, Arap Suiyon and Ben Ngetich; and his grandmother, Chemarus Suiyon.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024. The visitation will be at 11 AM, with the service following at 12 PM at Imani Church in West Des Moines. A second service will be at a future date in Jefferson, Iowa, at Abundant Life Ministries, with Slininger-Schroeder Funeral Home.
