Emory Edward Blount, Sr., 83, of Columbus, Georgia, died peacefully at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Tim Jones officiating. The funeral home is located at 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA 31907. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery.
Emory was born on August 9, 1942, in Slocolmb, Alabama, to the late Melton Blount and Nadine Meadows Blount.
He is survived by his loving wife, Pat Blount; his children, Nancy Parmer of San Francisco, CA, Malanie Trawick (Bo) of Columbus, GA, Emory Edward Blount, Jr. of Perry, GA, Gary Blount (Marla) of Camden, SC, Brandon Jenkins (Dana) of Ellerslie, GA, and Brittany Brossett (Nathan) of Columbus, GA; his brother-in-law, Calvin Heath, Jr. (Katherine) of Columbus, GA.; his 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Emory dedicated over 55 years of faithful service to the Columbus Water Works. He began his career as a meter reader and, through hard work and commitment, advanced to become Executive Vice President and Secretary of the Board of Water Commissioners. His leadership, integrity, and dedication left a lasting impact on the organization and the community he served.
Emory will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and family man, as well as a respected professional whose life’s work reflected his strong values and unwavering work ethic. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
